Our November 2018
trip took us to the Seychelles Island of Mahe. We flew with Emirates
via Dubai in the UAE, and stayed at the
Constance Ephelia Resort. Located on the North-west coast of the island of Mahé and nestled on the edge of two of the island’s most beautiful beaches, it is set within 120 hectares of luxuriant and rare vegetation and overlooks the Marine National Park of Port Launay. With seven swimming pools, five restaurants and six bars, and easy access to the lovely warm ocean, the daytime temperature rarely fell below 30 degrees C and the night temperature never fell fell below 28 degrees C. Access to all areas of the site was assisted by a very efficient 'Golf Buggy' taxi service, where you rarely had to wait more than a few moments to get a passing buggy. While on the main island of Mahe, we took a full day bus tour of the island including the capital city of Victoria, and then on a second day, we took a trip to the outer islands of Praslin and La Digue. On Praslin, Seychelles second biggest Island we visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site of 'Vallee De Mai' to see the huge Coco de Mer Palms and the coconuts that are shaped very much as a female anatomy. On our tour of the islands of Praslin and La Digue we visited two of the world's 'Top Ten Best Rated Beaches', Anse Source Dargent on La Digue and then Anse Lazio on Praslin. The islands are home to a profusion of Giant Tortoises that can live to over 100 and are native to the island of Aldabra on the outer periphery of the Seychelles Archipelago. |
